News Flash – San Diego Real Estate is Downright Affordable!
Finally, a positive perspective on our real estate market in San Diego, and it comes from Seattle. Robbie Paplin of the Rain City Guide, a must-read Blog if you fashion yourself a real estate junkie, had some interesting thoughts on California real estate prices (http://www.raincityguide.com/2006/06/07/want-to-live-in-the-golden-state-bring-lots-of-evergreen-state-money/). It seems that he finds our housing prices surprisingly affordable, or “downright cheap” in his words. I think this is a good reality check for many of us. We tend to forget that we live in one of the country’s most beautiful cities and enjoy almost perfect weather. For many of us, it is the quality of life that brought us here, and it is that quality of life which will keep us here. Yeah, think of what our home equity would get us in Toledo? But, it would, afterall, end up being in Toledo! (No offense, Ohio). So, next time we all whine about the cost of San Diego real estate, remember where we live, and remember that at least one person in Seattle thinks we are a bargain.
